IADH 12th World Congress & Exhibition
The International Academy for Design & Health (IADH)’s 12th World Congress & Exhibition took place on July 12-16th, 2017 in Vienna, Austria. This year’s conference focused on the global application of salutogenic perspectives on European healthcare design. The event offered opportunities for the exchange of interdisciplinary knowledge between researchers, academics, designers, industry, and government.
This year’s Congress also marked the retirement of Dr. Alan Dilani, Founder of the Academy. Dr. Dilani has been instrumental in developing and promoting the salutogenic design theory throughout the world, based on his work at the Karolinska Institute, Medical University in Sweden. Gunther De Graeve will take on the role as Chief Executive Officer of the Academy.
It was a pleasure for Nadia Tobia, of Tobia Architects, to once again participate in this year’s successful Congress. Ms. Tobia’s participation in Academy activities began in 2000 as a speaker at the 2nd World Congress in Sweden. During the past 20 years she has contributed in different capacities, including speaking at several conferences, being a member of the International Committee, a member of the Congress Scientific Committee, and a member of the jury for several IADH awards cycles.
Tobia Architects would like to congratulate Dr. Dilani on his retirement and thank him for his many contributions to the field of design and health over his 35 years career. We also congratulate Gunther De Graeve on his new role.
