The Integrated Health Centre and Workers Hospital consists of 220 beds and was undertaken in two phases. The project consists of a hospital and ambulatory care facility including a commissioning zone, outpatient clinics, an emergency department, radiology, and operating suites in addition to support facilities and administration spaces.
The project design was based on the needs of the patients which included unique solutions for patients arriving in large numbers at the same time. Design solutions included clarity of movements and circulation throughout the facility, and interior design elements that enhance way finding. The health centre and hospital are arranged in a linear pattern with highly visible entrances, with a major central hub at the intersection to accommodate high volumes. The interior spaces are served by a boulevard that extends across the departments.
